People diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) require a vehicle modification early on. Specialists like Roman Pott advise them to act with an eye on the future here in order to familiarize themselves with the different driving aids and have them installed. Petri+Lehr customer adviser Hans Widmann will be available at the information day with a converted vehicle between 10:00 and 18:00 h for questions and suggestions.
How about a test drive?
The international rehabilitation, travel and mobility trade fair for all is taking place for the fourth time under the umbrella of escales-Verlag (Rollstuhl-Kurier). The location is new: 'Schuppen 52', a classic, listed dockside storage shed from the imperial era, entices visitors to the heart of Hamburg's harbor district. A breathtaking view across the Elbe of Hamburg's urban panorama and maritime flair are included.
Traveling there will be made easy for wheelchair users: the railway mission at Hamburg's main station will be on hand to help and an accessible, free shuttle service has also been set up. Further information is available on the IRMA homepage.
Our premium partner from the north, Kowski Handicar, will also be in attendance. Information on all important Petri+Lehr products will be available here. At the IRMA, Petri+Lehr's premium partner 'Handicar' will be focusing on passenger transport for children with limited mobility.
REHAB 2015 is the 18th international specialist trade fair for rehabilitation, therapy and prevention in Karlsruhe. This year's highlight is that the opening ceremony will be presented by Raúl Krauthausen, who will be reading from his latest book, "Dachdecker wollte ich eh nicht werden: Das Leben aus der Rollstuhlperspektive" (January 2014, rowohlt-Verlag), in the culture bistro. That promises to be exciting, since the activist is very humorous. His stance that practical things should also be attractive (see interview) has long since been put into practice in Petri+Lehr's products.
Petri+Lehr will be showing a Volkswagen Caddy with all functional equipment for people with physical limitations. For active drivers, this vehicle is fitted with the Multima2 with adaptation for the MFD1, MFD2 and MFD TOUCH multi-function steering knobs, a removable steering wheel turning knob, a complete guard for pedals and the transfer board. For passengers, the Milford passenger lift is fitted on the passenger side and the Olympian 150 wheelchair loading system in the trunk. The latter is also suitable for heavy electric wheelchairs. The tailgate can be opened and closed automatically by remote control with the pneumatic hatch opener.
Mobility in any case.
On 28.09.2015 and alternatively on 19.10.2015, training like that undergone by the professionals will be available with Audi and Petri+Lehr active driving aids, such as a Multi-Function Steering Knob (MFD) or a Multima® Hand Control for drivers, at the 'AUDI Driving Experience Center' in Neuburg an der Donau. Experienced Audi safety trainers will be by your side a whole day long.
Requirements: ownership of an Audi vehicle (registered for a maximum of 6 years in total) equipped with a driving aid (valid severe disability ID card with a disability level of 50% or over, a thalidomide-related disability or an arm disability plus entry of the driving aid in your driving license) and participation in the course with this vehicle.
Places are limited, so speed is of the essence here too!
